Trip Planning

Just because you’re not a college kid anymore doesn’t mean you don’t deserve a warm, sand-filled spring break in our sun-drenched paradise at Beachside Vacations. February becomes that time of the year where our friends from the north plan their escape to the beautiful sandy shores Lowcountry South Carolina.

Spring break season brings nearly 60-70° F temperatures on average to the Isle of Palms, which means you’ll be finding yourself at the beach daily. After a long day in the sun, be sure to refresh with an ice-cold beer from one of the many fun South Carolina breweries around town!

We’ve compiled a list of our four favorites that are worth checking out during your stay in Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island South Carolina.

Revelry Brewing Company

Nothing goes more perfectly together than a beautiful sunset, a gentle breeze in your hair, and an artisan craft beer in hand on top of a roof in South Carolina. Start the night at one of the best breweries in Charleston, SC, Revelry Brewing Company, which features a variety of award-winning brews, a rooftop, and a tasting room.

They conjure up everything from Bavarian wheat to West Coast IPAs as well as American sours and cream ales! We must say the show-stopper here is their American Style Stout, so don’t leave this favorite of the South Carolina breweries without trying a sample.

Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company

Post up at the massive 65-foot bar at Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company, select one of the impressive 26 drafts, and enjoy the most delicious plate of wings you’ve ever had!

The ambiance alone makes this one of the best Charleston breweries to catch a game, listen to live music, or go out on a limb and try something new like a Fruit Beer on tap. Play it safe with a dark lager, imperial stout, double IPA, blonde ale or pilsner.

Westbrook Brewing Company

Spend a warm day in the air-conditioned taproom at the Westbrook Brewing Company, where you can select from 22 fun rotating beers on draft. A local favorite of the South Carolina breweries because of the versatile selection, beer garden option, no tasting room reservations required, and the brewery tours are free!

They feature unique beers with a twist including imperial stouts, sours, pilsners, IPAs, English mild ales along with a variety of their famous styles of Mexican Cake releases.

Pro Tip: Each year in May, their barrel-aged anniversary beer called Mexican Cake, a barrel-aged imperial stout, is released and is filled with delicious notes of cocoa nibs, cinnamon sticks, habanero peppers, and vanilla beans- YUM!

Palmetto Brewing

You may have a tough time selecting what you’d like to try at Palmetto Brewing Company since they were the very first of their kind before many other South Carolina breweries followed. This means that they have withstood the test of time and offer several great flavors to keep you coming back!

There are many classic Mainstay brews, including their Espresso porter, Lowcountry lager, tasty Mango IPA, and Huger Street IPA. While there are now various breweries in Charleston, SC, this is the original leader and a can’t-miss stop to add to your brewery tour list!
