Living Like a Local - Scott Layton

Scott Layton, Real Estate:

I’ve spent my life living along South Carolina’s coast and it really is a special place to have grown up.

With so much access to the beach, waterways, inlets and creeks you might imagine it was only natural that boating, fishing and surfing was a passion at an early age and still occupies a lot of my spare time. To be able to explore & relieve history by driving down the less traveled and old dirt plantation roads transports one back in time. If you like history it is around every corner. Dining out-it’s one of my pastimes. So many restaurants to choose from like Water’s Edge at Shem Creek or taking a sunset drive to Edisto Island to the "Old Post Office” it’s worth the hour’s drive winding through a canopy of ancient oaks. You will never be disappointed with "Slightly North of Broad” (SNOBS) or "The Old Village Post House”

At the end of any day simply relaxing on the porch, smelling the salt air and, the pluff mud never gets taken for granted. Watch the sunset over the Steeples of downtown from the Pitt Street Bridge in the old village. You’ll find scenic marsh and river vistas everywhere in the tri-county area.

For over 30 years, as a REALTOR, I’ve been privileged and excited about sharing the charm of Charleston while helping families find a vacation or permanent home to experience for themselves!

Enjoy the ambiance of the Lowcountry!
